The Myrciaria vexator or Blue Jaboticaba or Blue Grape or False Jaboticaba is a tree or shrub, which bears a small, dark purple fruit with the taste like sweet grapes. The skin is bitter but the flesh is soft and sweet. Each fruit contains 1 to 2 seeds. The fruit can be stored much longer than other Jaboticaba’s. Fruit can be eaten out of hand or used in drinks for instance.
This Myrciaria vexator tree is a slow growing, but beautiful ornamental shrub that grows up to 6 ft! (183 cm or 72 inch)
We offer the following options..
At this moment we sell the following False Jaboticaba varieties:
- Whole fruits
- Sprouted seeds
- Seedlings <1 year old (small plant)
- Seedlings >1 year old
Buy the fruits yourself and taste the delicious taste! But you can also buy the fruits using only the seeds. The seeds can last longer because they remain in the pulp of the fruit itself. So different options for you!
Myrciaria Seeds for sale & Sprouted seeds
Please keep in mind that the myrciaria seeds are having a slow germination rate. It could take 3 months to sprout, but it could even take one year! So please don’t give up on them as it could still happen. 🙂
The last added to our range! We now have Myrciaria vexator plants for sale! 🙂 We sell both seedlings that are younger than 1 year and older than 1 year. The difference? The seedlings that are older than 1 year are of course larger because they have had longer to grow. Normally we do not sell seedlings older than 1 year, but of course we do occasionally to check the quality of our own seeds and what the result is. We now want to share this result with you! The vexator plants we have for sale are older than 1 year and are larger than 30 cm (11 inches, 0.98 ft) The attached photo shows a seedling plant of 1 year and older.
How to take care of the seedlings
Please keep in mind that the seedlings need protection from wind, cold and sun. Please place them NOT in direct sunlight for roughly two weeks as they need to adjust from the shipment (dark place). Also, place the Blue Jaboticaba seedlings in full shade only, as the sun will burn small plants. If you decide to place the seedlings outside, please gradually increase their exposure to outdoor conditions. This will increase the surviving changes of the blue grape.
