Description

The Mansoa alliacea or Garlic Vine is a tropical liana that originally comes from the north of South America, but can now also be found in Brazil and Central America. The flowers are blue/lilac and the Garlic Vine flowers for a short period but with a lot of flowers. A very ornamental climber. It is mainly about the leaves of the climber that have a strong aromatic garlic smell when they are bruised. In Suriname, these leaves are often used as a flavor enhancer in meat dishes and soup. A must-have for the herb garden for the true lover of herbs.
