Description
The Gossypium barbadense, or Cotton Plant, is a perennial (sub) tropical herb with beautiful stages from bud to seed. This Cotton is a herb that grows a lot in Suriname under the name Redi Katun, or also Red Cotton. The flower buds are red to pink from which a beautiful yellow flower emerges. After flowering, the seeds will form in a ball of cotton.
The leaves are somewhat medicinal. In Suriname, the local population mainly uses the tea that can be made from the leaves. Numerous examples can be found on the internet about the use of this plant.
