Description

Quararibea (Matisia) cordata, also known as Chupa-Chupa, is a medium-sized tree that can grow up to 25 meters high. It is native to South America, especially to the Amazone region.

The fruits of this tree are cauliflora and the orange flesh is juicy and sweet. The fruits are used to make juice, ice cream, and candies. The taste is between pumpkin and papaya.

Quararibea cordata contains a high amount of vitamin C.

Chupa-Chupa prefers well-draining fertile soils with a  pH of 5.5-6.5. The plant can tolerate warm and humid weather but cannot withstand frost or very cold temperatures.

We offer you a marcotted plant with healthy roots as a good beginner plant.
